A trip to the library, a batch of brownies and playing trains. Simple, unscheduled pleasures. Who could ask for more? Certainly not this working mom; these are the times I cherish. Sometimes I have a hard time realizing the fun we are having "in the moment". My new goal is to recognize the good times even before I look back at the photos.
Looks like fun! My parents came to pick Jordan up on Saturday and Chad and I were so happy for a break and then as soon as they left the driveway and we closed the door we were sad he was gone. It's so important to cherish everything...especially the simple things!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I try to enjoy the "in-the-moment-feeling" while I am with my kids. I am aware of how quickly these moments pass by and how wonderful they are. All I can do is take lots of photos to remember those moments so that they are not lost in my mind, or in my kids' future, so they could re-live the past with me.
ReplyDeleteTake it from someone who's gone through it ~ cherish every little moment ~ it really does go by so darn fast. As much as I tried to do this when Adam was younger, I was a single working mom and it was hard but I think I did ok. My top two parenting tips have always been 1)enjoy the small moments and 2) pick your battles. Enjoy those boys Lara!!
