Roses are red, violets are blue, kids really like scissors and glue

Cabin fever has hit us hard; thank goodness for glue sticks, scissors and fingerpaint.  The boys made about twenty masterpieces during the blizzard.  When I ran out of room to display the paintings, I drew hearts on the backs of the remaining papers.  Henry cut out the shapes and glued them to construction paper (along with some of Liam's shiny valentine cards). The best dollar I ever spent was on those blunt-tip scissors.  Henry uses them several times each day.  When he misplaces them, everything comes to a standstill until they are found.

I haven't dressed the boys alike since Christmas so I was very excited to find these polo shirts for Valentine's Day.  Henry dresses himself now and most days I do not correct him if he puts an item on backwards.  Today he did just fine.

It may look festive, but the boys weren't interested in dinner.  They had lots of sweets today and let's face it, if it's not chicken nuggets or macaroni and cheese, it's just not going to get eaten around here.

At the last minute, I found this project idea on a friend's blog and knew I couldn't wait until next year to make it.  I let Henry stay up a bit later tonight so we could follow the directions together.  I think I'll keep the garland up until after the big birthday party.  It's just the thing to chase the winter blahs away.

Happy Valentine's Day!
