No Card Required...

On this day of many commercialized expectations, I realize that I don't need the flowers or the cards.  I don't need the brunch or an afternoon at the spa.  I don't need to sleep in, have breakfast in bed or my car hand-detailed.  Those things would be nice and even welcomed.  But they're not necessary.
I wanted to be a mother for decades before these boys came into my life.  I had given up all hope of having children.  Even three years after Henry's birth, there are times I cannot believe that I am a mom.  I have a forever family.  I am thankful for these two little ones and I am grateful to them.  I am grateful for their patience as I learn and for their forgiveness when I make mistakes.  Most of all, I am thankful for their unconditional love.

Happy Mother's Day, Henry and Liam.  Without you, there would be no celebration.  With you, every day is a treat.
