Spring to Summer

Spring is quickly turning into Summer around here.  School has ended for the boys; Henry even wore a graduation cap for the end of year program.  His teachers have declared him ready for kindergarten.  Don't they know he's my baby boy and I am certainly not ready to send him out into the world of full day, five day a week school?  Come to think of it, I'm not even ready for that--as evidenced in my last post.

We've already established that time passes in the blink of an eye but seriously, I really did just drop Liam off for his first day of preschool   I know I did.  I remember buying that green striped shirt for the special day in October--and now, it's too small for him!

The boys had a wonderful school year.  I could not have asked for a better early learning experience.  I'm sorry to see it end but will always be grateful for the wonderful, giving teachers who provided Henry and Liam with a safe, nurturing environment in which to grow.  (But do they have to grow so fast?!)

I hope that the approaching summer will have a healing affect on my teaching career.  Right now I'm at the end of my rope, just trying to hang on and get through the difficult days.  I like to keep up a facade of strength--at least online--but in reality, the difficulties have been draining.  I'm trying hard to keep a sense of hopelessness at bay.

I'd like to end this post on a lighter note, but both boys are calling (one is crying) for water and it really is past bedtime--for all of us!

  3. I am in full denial, evidenced by the fact that I haven't sent in his kindy registration papers yet. May this summer be filled with fun and lots of carefree time before he joins the ranks of kindergarten. (and let's really get together soon)
